Payments App V1.01.11 Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Balance Inquiry

If you have opted to accept EBT payments during your merchant account boarding, you will be able to check EBT card balances. 

IMPORTANT!
EBT chip card functionality is not currently supported. Insert the card three times to activate the fallback to swipe the card per standard EMVCo regulations. We are working with our hardware and platform partners to support these newly issued cards. 

To perform a balance inquiry on an EBT card

1. Tap Payments app.
2. Tap the EBT payment method.
3. Tap Balance.

   NOTE: The Balance option will not be visible unless you have had this optional feature enabled.

4. Swipe, insert, or tap the card. An EBT transaction cannot be manually keyed.
5. Instruct the customer to enter their PIN.
6. The balance will display. Tap OK to print a receipt with the balance.
