Chargebee Activation and Configuration (Beta)

Chargebee is business software and an e-commerce platform that provides businesses with the ability to bill and invoice customers through subscription management and recurring billing. They have options for connection via an API or hosted payment pages.
Chargebee's integration with the Bank of America Gateway leverages the bank's Microform and Card Not Present Integration Toolkit integration methods to help meet the Self-Assessment Questionnaire A (SAQ A) Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance level.
Requirements
A Merchant Services account with Bank of America, a live website, and a Chargebee 2.0 account are required to activate the solution.
Configure payment settings
Set up your payment settings in Chargebee. You can set them up for a live site or a test site first.
IMPORTANT!
If you choose to do testing in the test environment, you will need to configure the payment settings a second time, when you are ready to switch to the live environment.
To generate security keys and configure payment settings
- Generate security keys for the live environment or test environment.
- Configure Chargebee payment settings
- To configure Chargebee settings
- Log in to your Chargebee admin dashboard in the top right corner of www.chargebee.com.
- Choose TEST Site or Go Live depending on whether you are configuring settings for the testing environment or the live environment.
- From the left navigation menu, select Settings.
- Under Settings, select Configure Chargebee.
- Under Billing, select Payment gateways.
- Under Payment gateways, select Bank of America.
- From the left navigation menu, under the Bank of America logo, click Manage.
IMPORTANT: Do not click the Manage link under Payment methods.
Copy and paste your Merchant ID, and Shared Secret and Key generated above, to Chargebee.
In the top right corner, click Connect.
If the connection was successful, you will see a Successfully updated the Bank of America credentials message in the bottom right corner of the screen.
If the connection was unsuccessful, contact us for assistance.
Configure additional settings by clicking Manage in the top right corner of the page under Payment methods.
IMPORTANT: Do not click the Manage link under the Bank of America logo.
Setting Description Card verification Validates a customer's card with a test authorization for a micro amount, which will be refunded immediately. Cards cannot be added if this test authorization fails.
NOTE: This setting is automatically enabled and mandatory for recurring payments so they are processed faster and achieve better approval rates.Allow prepaid cards Enables payments processed with prepaid cards. Always retain card information in Bank of America Useful in cases when multiple payment gateways are configured, this setting retains card information for the Bank of America Gateway. 
Click Save to save the changes.
To run a test transaction
- Run a test transaction using test credit card numbers. If you require assistance, contact us.
- If you tested in the test environment, after successful testing, repeat the steps above to configure payment settings for the production (live) environment.
To archive the Bank of America payment gateway
- In the Chargebee admin dashboard, below the Bank of America logo, select Archive.
- Payments for new customers will not be processed through this payment gateway.
- Payments for existing subscriptions configured to the Bank of America gateway will continue to be processed through this payment gateway.
