PAX Terminal Firmware Update and Daily Reboot Feature

June 24, 2024

Description

Overview of firmware update and new daily reboot feature

What's in this article?

Your A-series terminals (A80, A60, A920) may require a firmware update. We will contact you via email and notify you with a device message to advise that the firmware update will be installed. To ensure that the firmware updates, leave your point of sale terminal plugged in, powered on and connected to the network. Firmware updates occur overnight.

Daily Reboot feature

A new feature is included with the firmware update that reboots the terminal each day. The scheduled time for the reboot is between 5-6 am local time. If this timing will not work for your business, contact us to schedule an alternative daily reboot time.

What firmware versions support the reboot feature?

The following versions of firmware support the auto reboot enhancement:

Can I disable the reboot feature?

The reboot feature may not be disabled. It is required to maintain PCI security for terminal data.

What happens if I have an open batch during the reboot?

If the reboot occurs while a batch is open, the batch will not be impacted. When the reboot happens, reopen the application.

Can I change the time of day that the terminal reboots?

The scheduled time for the reboot is between 5-6 am local time. If this timing will not work for your business, contact us to schedule an alternative daily reboot time.

Daily reboot time is set for all of your devices. You will not be able to set a unique time for a single device.
