How to edit the receipt email message in the Back Office

By sending your customers their receipts as an email message, you can collect email addresses, provide an added convenience to your customers and market to them. You can add an image and an offer to your email receipts. By default, the receipt email message displays the store information near the top of the receipt. The system uses the store information. The receipt email message displays the transaction details in the middle portion of the screen. You cannot edit this information, but you can edit the receipt email message.

NOTE:
Emailed receipts will be sent even if a customer has requested to opt out of email marketing.

To edit the receipt email message

  1. In the Back Office , select the Customers tab.
  2. Select the Email Marketing tab.
  3. Click Send Receipts via Email.
  4. Select Customize My Receipt.
  5. Accept the default subject line or type a subject line for your receipt email message.
  6. Upload your company’s logo or some other graphic by hovering over the image area at the top of the screen and clicking the settings gear. 
  7. Use the editing options to change the image or move the image section within the receipt layout:

    Edit ImageSelect to edit the image that displays, including adding a URL with a link, adding alternate text, resizing, resetting, and clearing the image.
    Replace ImageReplace the current image with another image.
    Clear ImageRemove the current image from the email.
    Duplicate SectionDuplicate the displayed image to create a second image section. Use this option to show the image at both the top and bottom of the receipt.
    Move Section DownMove the image to display at the bottom of the receipt.
    Remove SectionRemove the image section. If you remove this section, you will not be able to attach an image later.
  8. (Optional) Enter a discount or offer at the bottom of the screen by hovering over that area and clicking the settings gear. Click Add Offer.
  9. Once you have created your content, click Preview to view the entire email along with headers and footers.
  10. Click Test Email and enter up to five email addresses to send the email and see the final formatting. This will allow you to see the email exactly as your customers will see it.
  11. Click Check Spam Score to launch the spam checker.
  12. Click Save Changes to begin using the updated receipt email message to your customers.

NOTE:
You can also display a message underneath the transaction details. Access Settings > Store > Receipt Information > Receipt message to edit the receipt message. This message appears on both printed and receipts sent through email.
