How to use the Inventory Sale option in the MobilePOS app to select items from your inventory for a sale

To use the full inventory management functionality of the Mobile POS Solution, use the Inventory Sale option to select items for a sale from your inventory.  

NOTE: 
Use the switch mode shortcut switch mode shortcut iconat the top left corner of the screen to quickly switch between Quick Sale and Inventory Sale modes.


Inventory sales

Track your inventory sales using the Inventory Sale mode.

To make an inventory sale
  1. In the MobilePOS app, tap switch mode shortcut iconto access Inventory Sale.
  2. Tap to select a category or choose one of the following tab options:
    table listing tabs and their functions
    Tab Function
    ItemsView items as a list.
    ScanUse your device camera to scan a UPC code.
    Custom ItemAdd an item that is not listed in the inventory. See below.
  3. Tap to select an item.
  4. Tap to adjust the item quantity as needed. The items are added to the cart and sales tax is automatically applied.
  5. Continue to add items as needed. When you are ready to checkout, tap View Cart. The selected ticket items with their prices, the ticket subtotal, tax, and total display.
    • To view item details, tap menu to open the Item Details view. 
    • To change item quantity, select the item and then tap - or + to change the quantity. 
  6. Tap Checkout to complete the sale. You also adjust the quantity of items in the cart or add a discount before checkout.
  7. (Optional) Add an order number or a note for the sale, if desired. The tax options for your sale will be determined by your tax settings and how an item was set up in the inventory.
  8. Choose a payment type and take the payment:
    • Card
    • Cash
    • Manual
      1. Tap Card.
      2. Dip, tap, or swipe the card in the reader.
      3. If tip enabled , allow the customer to enter a tip either by adding a dollar amount or percentage and then tap Confirm
      4. If signature requested, the customer should use a finger to sign on the screen of the device, and then tap Confirm. The app will attempt to authorize the credit card. 
      1. Tap Cash.
      2. (Optional) In Pay field, enter the cash amount tendered by the customer. The change due will appear.
      3. Tap the Pay button. 

        NOTE: Cash transactions are for tracking purposes only and are not included in the settlement amount or deposit.

      1. Tap Manual 
      2. Manually enter the credit card information: 
        • Account Card Number
        • Expiration Date (MMYY)
        • CVV (This is code on the back of the card) 
        • Zip
        • Address
      3. Choose Card Present or Not Present
      4. Once all the needed information is entered, tap the Pay button. 
  9. Select a receipt option:

    Receipt optionDescription
    Email ReceiptEnter the email address of the customer.
    Text ReceiptEnter the cell phone number of the customer.
    Print ReceiptSelect a connected Wi-Fi printer on your network and then tap Print.
    No ReceiptNo receipt will generate.
  10. Tap Send.


Discount an inventory sale

Discounts may be applied to the whole ticket or to individual items.

To add a discount to an inventory sale
  1. From the cart view, select the items that should be discounted:
    • Tap Select All to select all of the items
    • Tap an item(s) in the cart to apply a discount to individual items.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Tap the toggle button to discount the item by a custom percentage off or by a dollar amount. Enter the amount of the discount. 
    • Tap a preset percentage discount.
  3. Tap Confirm. The cart view displays showing the discount applied.


Add a custom item

If you need to add an item to a sale that is not currently in your inventory, use the Custom Item option.

To add a non-inventory item to the sale
  1. In the MobilePOS app, tap ☰ menu in the upper right corner to open the menu.
  2. Tap Inventory Sale
  3. Tap the Custom Item tab.
  4. Enter the name of the item and a price. 
  5. Tax will be set to the default option. If needed, tap Tax to choose a tax option. 
  6. If desired, tap Add to Inventory to add the item to your inventory for future sales.
  7. Tap Add to Cart to add the custom item to the sale and return to the Inventory Sale Categories view.


Save or hold the ticket

You can put an order on hold and recall it later to complete the sale.

To save the order and recall later
  1. From the Cart view for the order, tap Save Order.
  2. (Optional) Enter a note for the order. This can help you identify the order to recall it later. 
  3. When ready to recall the order, tap ☰ menu to open the menu.
  4. Tap Transactions & Orders.
  5. Tap the Open Orders tab.
  6. Tap the ticket that you held and continue the sale. To delete the held order, tap the delete icon.


Clear a ticket

If the sale must be canceled, tap the delete icon at the top of the screen to clear out the sale.
