Payments App Release Notes

Beginning Wednesday, May 7, 2025, new devices will be boarded with the updated Payments app (BroadPOS) version 1.01.11. Terminal replacements will also be loaded with the new version of the application. Existing clients will be notified when their device will update with the new version of the application beginning in July 2025. Updated devices will not receive the card type detection or void option consolidated enhancements.

NOTE:
Clients using terminals with compatible third-party partner solutions may still use version 1.01.05. Refer to partner-specific Payment Features articles to confirm what app version the solution uses.

Features and enhancements

• Edit tip adjustments
  You can now edit a tip after it is entered at the terminal. The tip can be edited an unlimited number of times up until the batch is closed at the terminal. Once the terminal batch is closed, merchants can no longer edit a tip.
• Card type detection (debit/credit)
  You will not need to select the Debit or Credit option prior to performing the transaction. The terminal will automatically recognize the card type and select the appropriate option.  If you have received an update to your application, your user interface will remain the same as it was before unless you request an update.
• Void option consolidation
  All voids/credits/returns will be initiated with a single void button. The terminal will automatically recognize the card type and select the appropriate option.  If you have received an update to your application, your user interface will remain the same as it was before unless you request an update.

Bug fixes

• Customer name not appearing on the receipt is resolved.
• Contactless error message indicates to move closer to device.
