How do I get to the Fraud Management tool?
  1. Log in to your Merchant Services account in Business Advantage 360 online banking. 
  2. Navigate to Merchant Services Accounts.
  3. Select the account for your location (Fraud Management operates at the location level).
  4. Once inside the tool, scroll down the left-side panel to locate Fraud Management.
How do I know if Fraud Management is enabled?

You can quickly tell whether Fraud Management is turned on by viewing the section in the left navigation panel. If you see Fraud Management in the left navigation panel, the tool is enabled.

Is Fraud Management already setup for me?

Yes. Your tool is enabled with an active set of default settings, rules, and thresholds. It is recommended that you review each rule, threshold and outcome on a regular basis to make sure these settings make sense for your business.

How does Fraud Management work?

Fraud Management helps detect potentially fraudulent activity by evaluating outcomes (decisions), based on the way you configure your rules and thresholds. It is recommended that you review each rule, threshold and outcome on a regular basis to make sure these settings make sense for your business.

How do I manage rules?

You have the ability to update your rules at any time. It is recommended that you review each rule, threshold and outcome on a regular basis to make sure these settings make sense for your business.

  1. Navigate to Fraud Management.
  2. Locate and select Rule Configuration.
  3. Click Edit Rules.
  4. Once completed, click Save to continue.

Things to consider when you update a rule:

  • The change becomes effective immediately.
  • If you DO NOT want to use a rule, set it to Disabled. 
  • If you DO NOT want Fraud Management to take any action at all on your orders, you must set EACH rule to Disabled. 
How do I know what each rule means?

Information icons and recommended tips are available to assist you while making any needed adjustments to your rules. Click on the icon next to the rule for a brief description.

What are the possible outcomes and the definition of each?

Accept/MonitorThe order will process normally.
ReviewThe order will pend for an Accept or Reject decision or will be rejected automatically after 30 days.
RejectThe order will be rejected.
DisabledNothing is evaluated; removed from active rules list.
How can I add/enable Fraud Management?

To add/enable the Fraud Management, transfer the merchant to Small Business Sales at 855.225.9300.

How do I disable Fraud Management?

In order to disable Fraud Management, you must set each rule to Disabled. Keep in mind you should do this only if you do not want Fraud Management to take any action at all on your orders.

  1. Navigate to Fraud Management.
  2. Locate and select Rule Configuration.
  3. Click Edit Rules.
  4. Once completed, click Save to continue.
How do I identify what orders are Pending Review?   

The Fraud Dashboard provides a quick, yet comprehensive view of your Key Performance Metrics and other helpful charts, along with a quick summary of your recent orders. By simply changing the date range, you can see all orders currently pending review, orders received within the last hour (currently pending review), as well as all recent orders received within the last 30 days.

  1. Navigate to Fraud Management > Fraud Dashboard.
  2. Modify Date Range (options: last hour – last 6 months). 
  3. Orders will appear in the bottom half of the screen. Options:
    • Export Results.
    • Accept or Reject Transactions.
    • Add Note.
    • Use the Marking Tool.
What is the review decision outcome?  

Review is a possible outcome triggered by rules or thresholds you configure. This means that the order will be paused or held, pending review, until you accept or reject it. 

NOTE:
Fraud Management is pre-configured with some initial default settings, but you will want to review each rule, threshold and outcome to make sure these setting make sense for your business. 

What should I do if an order Is in Review?

If an order is put in Review, you must log in to the Business Center and either accept or reject the order. If you do not accept an order within a certain number of days, the authorization expires. 

To find your pending review transactions, navigate to Fraud Management > Fraud Dashboard. On the bottom half of the page, click the Orders Pending Review tab. You can also go to Fraud Management > Order Search.
