How to troubleshoot issues with the kitchen impact printer

What's in this article?

If the kitchen impact printer is not printing, check the following:

  • If no lights are on, confirm powered on and that the power supply cable is correctly plugged in to the printer and the power outlet.
  • Check the paper roll in the printer to confirm there is paper and that there is no paper jam.
  • Confirm that the ink ribbon is installed correctly.
  • Confirm that all the covers are closed.
  • If lights are on and the ERROR LED is not blinking, the printer is offline.  Check the back cover and paper.
  • If the lights are on and the LED is blinking, turn off the printer for a few seconds and the turn it back on.

At times, it may be necessary to perform a network reset for a printer when connected to your router with an ethernet cable (e.g., IP address is showing 0.0.0.0 or 192.168.192.123).

To reset the printer

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Turn the printer on while using a paper clip or similar tool to press the Function button for three seconds.

NOTE: The Function button is located in the pinhole on the back of the printer.

  3. Release the Function button and wait 10 seconds for a new IP address to be allocated to the printer.
  4. Press the Function button again. A receipt showing the Ethernet settings will print.
