Description
How to troubleshoot terminal printing issues
What's in this article?
If the printer integrated into your terminal is not printing correctly, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Troubleshoot | Solution |
---|---|
No Paper? | Check that paper is installed in the printer. |
Correct paper? | Paper roll must be thermal paper and the correct width for your terminal. There should be enough room for the paper roll to move slightly from side to side and to shut the lid easily. - A-series terminal paper roll is 2.25" - E-series terminal paper roll is 3.14" |
Paper is feeding out of printer? | When inserting the paper, a small amount should feed out of the printer. If paper is jammed, reset the paper roll and retry printing. |
Receipt comes out blank? | If the paper is installed upside down, the receipt will be blank. Open the printer cover and flip the direction of the paper roll, so that the shiny side of the paper feeds out of the printer on top. |
Try Reprint | Try to print using the Reprint option |
Try a different paper roll | If still not printing, try another paper roll. Ensure paper hasn't been damaged by heat or humidity. |
Power cycle | If still not printing, power the terminal off and power it back on. To fully reboot the terminal, press and hold the Power button and select the Reboot option on the display. |
NPM? | If the printer is disabled, the terminal will display NPM at the top center of the screen. Call us for assistance. |
If these steps did not work and you are still experiencing problems printing, call us for assistance.
