How many Mobile Card Readers can a single account support?

A maximum of 10 Mobile Card Reader D135 devices can be under a single merchant account.

Where is equipment shipped from?

Our equipment deployment partner has facilities in Louisville, KY and Sacramento, CA. As a best practice, equipment is shipped from the facility closest to the shipping destination to reduce travel time, however, some exceptions will occur.

How can I tell if my card reader is fully charged??

When powered on, the charging indicator light on the bottom right side of the card reader will show as solid green for a fully charged device. 

What charging options are available for the Mobile Card Reader D135?

The device can be charged by using the charging base that comes with the device, or you can use a USB cable. The charging base is a more convenient method, allowing the card reader to charge continuously while positioned on your countertop for easy customer payment.

What card acceptance methods does the card reader support?

The Mobile Card Reader D135 supports the following card acceptance methods:

  • Magnetic Stripe: Slide the card through the card reader slot from left to right or from right to left with the magnetic strip oriented towards the body of the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while swiping the card.
  • IC/Smart Card Reader (EMV® Chip Reader): Insert the card fully into the reader with the metallic contacts facing up and towards the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while scanning the card.
  • Contactless Card Reader: The contactless card reader reads cards and devices placed roughly within an inch (2.5 mm). For best results, place as close to the reader as possible and center the card over the indicated area at the top of the terminal. 

    NOTE: Contactless payments are not supported for China UnionPay® and JCB.

What do the different light status indicators on my device represent?

Status indicators can represent charge status, device connectivity or indicate if your device has been compromised.

The blue indicator lights on my device are on. What does that mean?

The blue lights indicate that the device has been compromised. You should stop using the device and call Bank of America at 833.344.2324.
