Restaurant Point of Sale App Gratuities

A gratuity is a tip applied to the ticket by the merchant, such as when a party is over a certain size. To apply a gratuity to the ticket, you must enable the option in Back Office and then manually apply the gratuity to the ticket. When taking payment, the option to add a preset gratuity will appear. One of the preset options can be selected or a custom tip amount can be added. Gratuity is enabled and configured in Back Office.

To add a gratuity

1. With the guest check active, tap PAY at the bottom of the guest check. 
2. Tap Gratuity.
   
   
3. Select a preset gratuity percentage or enter a custom gratuity percentage.
   • Initially, the Point of Sale app defaults to 15%, 18%, and 20% but will change to the last three percentage values entered on the device. 
   • To enter a specific gratuity amount instead of a percentage, tap Custom and enter the amount.
4. Tap Save. The gratuity is applied to the check.
   
   

To change gratuity

1. With the guest check active, tap the Gratuity line item located in the bottom of the guest check. 
2. Enter a new percentage or dollar amount.
3. Tap Done.

To remove a gratuity

1. With the guest check active, tap the Gratuity line item located at the bottom of the guest check.
   
   
2. Tap Clear and then tap Done.
