Point of Sale App Inventory Count and Receive

To count and receive inventory in the Point of Sale app, make sure you have defined how your items are counted under the Item Detail in the Back Office. You can select if the item is received in packages or units, and even input the unit cost. Inventory count establishes the current on hand amount for your items. Completing a count will override the previously recorded On Hand quantity. You can count in packages and units. Receive inventory to add inventory to the count, for example when a new shipment comes to the store.

To count or receive inventory

1. From the Point of Sale app slide-out menu ☰,  tap Count/ Receive Inventory.  
   

   NOTE: If your user role does not have proper access to this feature, you will be prompted for a manager PIN.

2. Search for an item.
3. Tap the item to count or receive more. Items with variation are displayed with a "+" sign. Tapping the plus sign will reveal the variations you can count or receive.
4. Select the Count tab or Receive tab on the right panel of the screen.
   • Count inventory: Enter the amount of packages or units of an item you currently have on hand then tap Replace current quantity. 
   • Receive inventory: Enter the total number of packages or units to add to your item's current on hand quantity then tap Add.
