How to set up the Card Reader D135 as a payment device for your Station L1400

The Card Reader D135 is a portable device used with the Station L1400 to take a credit card payment. 

NOTE: 
If you are using the Mobile Point of Sale Solution, refer to Getting Started with Mobile Point of Sale Solution for setup instructions.

What's in the box?

Your Mobile Card Reader D135 comes with a USB Type-C charging cable and an optional charging base.

1  Power up

The Card Reader D135 arrives powered down. Connect the Card Reader D135 Charging Base to the Communication Hub L1400/A3700P using the provided cable. The Card Reader D135 then slides into the Charging Base. Press firmly down to ensure connection for charging and communication. 

Before turning it on, you'll want to fully charge the Card Reader in the Charging Base. When the blinking red indicator light changes to a solid green, the Card Reader is fully charged. When fully charged, hold down the Power button on the side until it beeps, then release. Power down the Card Reader the same way.




2 Connect to the Station

The Card Reader connects via USB cable to your Station L1400. You can connect the USB charging cable directly to the Communication Hub L1400/A3700P or connect the Charging Base to the Communication Hub L1400/A370P and then insert the Card Reader into the Charging Base. When docked in the optional Charging Base, the Card Reader communicates through USB-C connection. We recommend using the Charging Base.

To pair the card reader with your Station L1400


  1. Ensure that the card reader is fully charged.
  2. Press and hold the Power button on the Card Reader until the Card Reader beeps and the orange light comes on. Software download and configuration will begin automatically.
  3. When software download and configuration completes, open the Point of Sale App on the Station to begin taking payments.

Take a card payment

The Card Reader D135 accepts chipped card insertions or contactless taps. Your customers can also swipe their cards or use a mobile or digital wallet on a device to make a payment.

Insert the card chip-side first and chip face up. When prompted, remove the card. Card Reader D135 insert emv chip payment


Swipe the card through the magnetic stripe reader with the strip toward the bottom of the terminal.

Tap or hold the card within two inches of the top of the terminal.

Hold the mobile phone/device within two inches of the top of the terminal. the customer will then need to approve the payment on their phone/device.
