How to apply or remove ticket-level or item-level discounts on a ticket in the Point of Sale app
If discounts are defined in the Back Office, you can apply discounts in the Point of Sale app. Discounts used are tracked in various Back Office reports.
NOTE:
Discounts cannot be applied to return items.
Ticket-level discount
You can only assign one ticket-level discount to a ticket. On a receipt for a sale that includes discounts, the applicable ticket-level discount appears above the subtotal amount.
- To apply a ticket-level discount
- In the Point of Sale app, add the item(s) to the sale.
- Tap Discount.
- Tap the discount you want to apply from the list of available discounts. If you set up barcodes for your discounts, you can also scan discount barcodes.
- If prompted, enter the discount percent.
- Use the numeric keypad to select the discount amount (percent or dollar amount), then tap Done. The discount will be shown near the bottom of the ticket.
- To remove a ticket-level discount
- Swipe left on the discount.
- Tap Remove.
Item-level discount
Once you create an item discount in the Back Office, you can apply a single item-level discount to items being sold on the Point of Sale app. Discounts used are tracked in various back office reports.
- To apply a quick discount to an item
- In the Point of Sale app, add the item to the sale.
- Tap on the item price to open the discount screen.
- Apply the discount.
- Tap Done.
- Continue with the checkout process.
- To apply an item-level discount
- In the Point of Sale app, add the item to the sale.
- Tap the item's name on the ticket to view additional tabs on the top right panel of the Point of Sale app screen.
- Tap the Item Discount tab.
- Tap the discount you want to apply.
- If prompted, enter a discount percent or scan the discount code using the camera icon or attached scanner.
- Tap Done. The discount will be shown with the item.
- To remove an item-level discount
- In the Point of Sale app, tap the item line.
- Tap Item Discount.
- Tap the Discount Code.
