Description

An overview, requirements and steps for setting up and processing payments through Bank of America

What's in this article?

POS Bridge Solution is middleware from Bank of America that enables Oracle's Simphony restaurant POS system to work with the bank's Merchant Services platform. POS Bridge connects the POS system with the bank's Portable A920, supporting both pay at counter and pay at table payment acceptance.

Requirements

In addition to a Merchant Services account with Bank of America, the following are required to activate the solution:

  • A Bank of America Portable A920 payment terminal
  • POS Bridge middleware from Bank of America installed on the payment terminal
  • Oracle's Simphony POS system, version 19.6.2+

Set up the A920

To set up the A920

  1. Connect the payment terminal to your router using Wi-Fi setup.
  2. Learn more about Portable A920 Setup
  3. Once the payment terminal has been set up, Bank of America and your Simphony POS provider will assist with connecting the terminal to the Simphony POS system, running test transactions, and training on payment transactions using POS Bridge.

Set up Pay at Table payments

A920 terminals are shipped to you ready to use for Pay at Counter payments. If you wish to enable Pay at Table payments also, contact us.

Run a test transaction through the payment terminal

To run a test sale transaction directly on a payment terminal, without the assistance of Bank of America or your Simphony POS provider, you can use test credit cards to swipe/insert/tap the card on the Bank of America payment terminal. Test credit card numbers can also be used to test a manual sale transaction. Live transactions and live cards can also be used for testing.

Refer to POS Bridge Pay at Counter Transactions and POS Bridge Pay at Table Transactions for more assistance on payment transactions.

Disconnect payments through Bank of America
