Firmware updates are routine, industry‑standard enhancements that keep your payment terminals secure, compliant, and performing at their best. Much like the periodic updates you receive on your mobile phone, these updates ensure your device stays current with the latest security standards and functionality. Because payment devices operate in a highly regulated environment, staying current with firmware ensures your equipment continues to meet all compliance and security requirements for processing card transactions. 

Updates are delivered automatically to your device and generally take place during low‑activity hours to minimize disruption. We will notify you when a firmware update is scheduled for your device.

What you need to know and do

• Make sure your device remains plugged in, powered on and connected to your network continuously.
• Updates typically occur at 4 a.m. and run through 5:30 a.m. local time.
• If your device(s) isn’t on during this time, it will update once connected and powered on.

Keeping your firmware up to date is one of the simplest—and most important—steps you can take to maintain a secure and fully compliant payment environment.
