Getting Started

How do I activate my account?

Follow the Getting Started with Bank of America Mobile POS Solution article for steps on how to download and activate the MobilePOS app on your mobile device. 

Can I process transactions in the MobilePOS app if I do not have the Mobile Card Reader D135 yet?

Yes, you can process transactions manually through the app. However, a manual transaction fee will apply.  

Is there a limit on the number of users that can be added?

There is no limit on the number of users that be added to the MobilePOS Dashboard. Refer to the MobilePOS Dashboard User Management article for steps on how to add, delete, view, and edit users, roles and system permissions. 

How do I create a custom user role for my business?

The user roles in the MobilePOS Dashboard include Admin, Manager, and Employee. However, you can create custom roles for your business. Refer to the MobilePOS Dashboard User Management article for steps on how to create a new user role. 

What if a user does not have an Android or IOS mobile device?

The MobilePOS solution requires a compatible Android or iOS mobile device with a wireless internet or cellular connection. The BofA Point of Sale - Mobile App must be downloaded to the device from the Apple App Store or Android Play Store. 

What do the status indicator lights on my Mobile Card Reader D135 mean?

Refer to the Mobile Card Reader D135 Status Indicators article to interpret the status indicator lights on your Mobile Card Reader D135.

Can I change the screen lock timeout?

Yes, you can change the timing for the security screen lock. Refer to the MobilePOS App Tax, Tip, and Signature Settings Configuration article for details on how to change the timing.  

Communications and Marketing

Does the system support email or text marketing?

No, these are not supported features in the MobilePOS solution.    

Can I email or text a receipt instead of printing?

Yes, a receipt can be sent as an email or text. 

Inventory and Transaction Management

Is there a maximum number of customers and items supported?

While there are no actual limits placed on the number of customers, the system has been optimized to support up to 50,000 total items. 

Can I void a transaction?

Void is not supported in the MobilePOS app. Refer to the MobilePOS App Refund article for instructions on how to process a refund.

How many tax categories can I add?

There are no limits on the amount of tax categories that can be added.

Payment Methods

Does MobilePOS support gift cards?

Closed loop (store branded) gift cards are not currently supported. However, open loop (Visa/Mastercard gift cards) are accepted. 

Does MobilePOS support contactless payments?

Yes, contactless payments are accepted on the Mobile Card Reader D135. Review the Contactless Payments article for instructions on how to accept contactless payments on your Mobile Card Reader D135.

Does MobilePOS support EBT or Debit cards?

Debit cards can be processed as a credit transaction (Signature Debit), however PIN Debit and EBT is not supported.

What are the supported payment methods, payment types, and card types?

Mobile POS supports the following:
