- [Music in background throughout]Thank you for choosing the Hybrid A800 terminal from Bank of America.
- This video will help you set up your terminal and prepare to take payments, so feel free to stop, rewind, and rewatch any sequence.
- To start, remove the sleeve and open the box for the Hybrid A800.
- Inside, you'll find a welcome kit including a welcome letter with a QR code and link to online information, a quick setup guide, and a card acceptance decal.
- Now, remove your Hybrid A800 - which is powered down -and make sure you have both parts of the power cord, a few rolls of receipt paper, and an Ethernet cable in the compartments of the box.
- On the bottom of the terminal, you'll find a single port that is used to either connect to the Power Cable, the Charging Base A800, or Communication Hub A800, which allows for Ethernet access or tethering to a PIN Pad A35.
- If you did not opt for a PIN Pad A35 for your customers to use at your point of sale, feel free to skip this next part.
- But if you do have a PIN Pad A35, do not plug your power in yet.
- Instead, open the box for the Communication Hub A800, followed by the box for your PIN Pad A35.
- Please note, you will see the back panel of the PIN Pad A35 in a separate plastic bag.
- Set this panel aside for now.
- Plug the cable attached to the Communication Hub into the USB-C port on the bottom of the Hybrid A800.
- Then, using the cable that came in the PIN Pad A35 box, plug the black USB-A cable into any of the USB-A ports on the Communication Hub.
- Flip the PIN Pad A35 over so you can see all of the ports and plug the USB-C end of the cable into the USB-C port.
- Now take the red USB-A portion of the cable, plug it into the included power adapter and then plug it into an outlet.
- Take the back cover that you set aside earlier and attach it to the back of the PIN Pad A35.
- You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to secure the cover in place.
- It's important to power up the terminal and the PIN Pad A35 together, so now you can attach the power cord to the Communication Hub and then plug the unit into an outlet.
- Remember, if you chose to use your Hybrid 800 with a PIN Pad A35, you cannot use it as a portable device.
- Whether you have a PIN Pad A35 or not, the terminal will power up when it's plugged in for the first time, and the Bank of America payment application will open automatically.
- You can also turn it off or on by holding the power button for 3 to 5 seconds.
- If you are using the Hybrid A800 as a portable device (with Wi-Fi or Cellular) and will need to frequently remove or replace it from a power source, the Charging Base A800 is the perfect option.
- If you've purchased it, pull the dongle from the Charging Base A800 and insert it into the USB-C port on the bottom of the terminal.
- With the Charging Base A800 plugged into a power source, simply place the terminal onto the base, making sure that the pins on the charging base and the dongle (inserted in the bottom of the Hybrid A800) make contact.
- If connected properly, a charging icon will appear at the top of the terminal's display.
- If you need to plug an Ethernet cable into the Hybrid A800, you will need the Communication Hub A800.
- First, with the cable attached
- to the Communication Hub A800,
- plugged into the USB-C port on the bottom of your terminal,
- plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port
- on the Communication Hub A800.
Make sure that the other end of your Ethernet Cable - is plugged into your Router or other Ethernet port.
- Finally, attach the power cable to the Communication Hub A800 and plug the unit into an outlet.
- To connect wirelessly to Wi-Fi®, swipe down from the top of your terminal screen and you'll see the controls to turn on your Wi-Fi® connection.
- You will need to have the name and password for your secure Wi-Fi® network.
- If you have opted for the Cellular solution with your Hybrid A800, it will automatically connect to your local cellular tower upon powering up.
- Once you have an internet connection, you only have one more step before you're ready to go.
- Gently pull this panel to open the printer paper door.
- Place a fresh roll of paper with the end extending from the top about two inches above the roll.
- Then close the door again, leaving the top of the paper extended outside the door.
- Now you are ready to accept payments and give printed receipts.
- Customers can tap their card or mobile device to pay using the front of the terminal.
- Insert a chip card, face up and chip side first, into the bottom of the terminal or, if the chip can't be read, swipe the card with the magnetic stripe facing the body of the terminal on the side and enter the PIN number, if required.
- If you also have a PIN Pad A35, the customer can use it to tap their card or mobile phone, insert their chip card or, if necessary, swipe their card, then enter their PIN number, if required.
